Panama to Celebrate discovery of Pacific ocean

Nearly 500 years ago, there was a discovery by Spanish Vasco Nunez de Balboa motivated by stories of the inhabitants new lands.

Those were the circumstances over the great Pacific Ocean was discovered  and it is the most imposing water body on the planet, covering one third the surface of the Earth an area of over 165,000,000 km2. Two times larger than the Atlantic Ocean and more extensive than any dry surface of the globe. It is the deepest ocean and the greatest of the seas in biodiversity riches.

The discovery of the Pacific opened the doors to modernity and raised new thinkers, inventors, scientists. The Great Ocean revolutionized world geography, promoted the construction of Railroad and the Panama Canal, which serves as a trade route in the world enabling universal access of products.  

Thanks to the union of the two great oceans Atlantic and Pacific, Panama has the largest ports : Latin America and the Colon Free Zone, key to global trade logistics and essential part of the Hub of the America

Panama will be officially celebrating on September 2013 but the discovery commemorations already started.
